Emi Nakata
Nakata was born in 1988 in Ibaraki Prefecture. In 2011, she completed the Kiwamari-sou Photography Workshop organized by Mieko Matsumoto. She won the Jury Prize in the Photography category at the 2011 1_WALL, and won the Grand Prize in the same category the following year for her work, “Yosuga.” She later exhibited the work at Guardian Garden. Other exhibitions include Waiting For a Miracle (2014) at the 2014 Nishine-Nale; The Process of Creating a Photobook (2015) at OSAKA PHOTO WEEKS, in collaboration with Akaaka Art Publishing; Awai (2015) at OGU MAG; and Yosuga (2015) at Shinjuku Nikon Salon. In 2015, she published her first photobook, Yosuga, through Akaaka.
